The Committee's scope of activity covers the fields of social sciences, humanities, medical and health sciences, serving to integrate scholars from all over the country. The research on population processes, their various determinants and consequences (social, economic, environmental, medical and cultural) relates in particular to research areas assigned to: demography, statistics and econometrics, drawing on the achievements of various disciplines (economics and finance, socio-economic geography and spatial economy, political and administrative sciences, sociological sciences, psychology, history, health sciences).

The tasks of the Committee include undertaking all activities that serve the development of social sciences, humanities, medical and health sciences, as well as the use of their achievements for the benefit of the country.
