According to the regulations of the Division I: Humanities and Social Sciences of the PAS,  Scientific Awards of the Committee on Demographic Studies are offered to scientists every 3 years.

In each round there is a two step competition: firstly there is an open call for candidates, then the Presidium creates a short list of the best candidates. Finally, the Committee desides on the Award.
